GAJENDRA(/5)
: Vijayakanth, Laya & Flora
Music: Deva
Direction: Suresh Krishna
Remark: Suresh Krishna's hat-trick (Aalavandan, Baba & Gajendra)

These days, the best way to give hype to one's movie, is to create a controversy with some silly politician. Gajendra rather Vijayakanth, did the same by instigating Ramdas. The film is a remake of Telugu Super Hit, SIMMADHARI. By just doing a copy paste, this movie could have been made a hit….but, political dialogues and hero worship has spoilt an otherwise good movie. Gajendra played by Vijayakanth (looks huge, nothing special) is an orphan, who is brought up SharathBabu (wonder whether his age is going southwards). ShararthBabu grand daughter (Flora) falls in love with Vijayakanth. Sharath wants to adopt Vijayakanth as his son, when he comes to know that Vijayakanth has in his custody a mentally disturbed girl (Laya). Situation forces Sarath to send Vijayakanth out of his home. Gajendra, now and then, shows signs of a bloody flash back of his, obviously that reminds us of the Superstar's smash hit, BAASHA. Also we see, Villains, in Hyderabad, trying to find out Gajendra and the main Villain says, his only agenda is to finish Gajendra (!). Gajendra is now in Mahamaham, the villains come in groups to finish him, there is another team led by Radharavi(with all weapons), one is confused with their intentions... tensions build, the villains surround Gajendra, a fight starts, in comes Radharavi, he throws a new weapon to Gajendra, the villains are killed in dozens. Radharavi, is Gajendra's assistant. Before one can know, who Gajendra is, Laya stabs him with a crowbar. As Gajendra lies amids blood, we see the Interval Sign. When the movie resumes, we see 100s of people weeping standing in front of the hospital, who is this Gajendra?? Radharavi, now starts the flash back where Gajendara saves Hyderabad from a few villains whom even the Chief Minister could not control (!!).What happens in the end is for us to see in the screen. The movie's one point agenda, is to exaggerate Vijayakanth, as the saviour, who is going to come and save TN ie. he is the next CM. The movie is full of dialogues, where everyone requests him to come to politics. Every 5 mint, we hear some political dialogue. Radharavi, goes to the extent of saying, Gajendra, could have ruled Andhra, but he wants to be in TN. The second half, is a complete contrast of an exciting First half. Deva's music is pathetic. If you treat the second half as a comedy (like you did in NARASIMHA), you may enjoy the movie. Vijayakanth makes a mockery of himself, by speaking some crazy dialogues in the climax fight. The director, Suresh Krishna, needs to be condemned for spoiling a good remake. Suresh Krishna might get his hat-trick of flops (AALAVANDAN, BABA and GAJENDRA). Gajendra, is a huge elephant, which will be tamed, when it finally comes to politics.
