If Parthiban had applied the same thought he had applied while making the trailor his movie could have been better. He announced that the film is a commercial poetry. There is neither commercial nor poetry in the film. There is only a highly stupid and extremely boring drama. Except for the applause deserving art direction and Karthik Raja's background music, there is nothing different in this film. Even the "Sixth Sense" type of climax does not have its charm because much before climax the director loses the concentration of the audience. The entire story is narrated in mini flashbacks by the hero. A satellite TV channel compere, Madhumita pretends as if she has fallen in love with an auto driver, for a Candid camera program. Parthiban believes it to be true and falls deeply in love with her. When he comes to know that it was all a lie, he is shattered. When the program is telecast on TV and when everybody laughs at him, he loses his sanity. The rest of his life proceeds in his fantasy. Parthiban had tried hard to make the lengthy first half interesting but has failed. Before interval he promises a better second half (actually he does that) but has again failed to keep the audience' attention. The climax is a bit interesting. His 'Kudaikkul Mazhai' gift to his lover is very poetic, the way he drinks the tender coconut water that Madhumita had been drinking is very youthful, the kissing scenes are Kamalish, however, the film in totality is stupidish. There aren't many characters in the film. It revolves solely around Madhumita and him. Some of the characters are only heard, not seen. The role of the Singapore- Parthiban looks very unnatural. His costumes and his hairstyle don't suit him at all. Madhumita is a beautiful face. She has done a very realistic performance. Rain and telephone exist throughout the film, almost becoming the main characters of the film. The song 'Yengae poi solluvaen' (music composed by Karthik Raaja) sounds okay. 'Kudaikkkul Mazhai'- can be named as Ottai Kudai.
