Sullan is played by Dhanush (has tried to put some an extra weight for this movie). Dhanush, is a 18yr old college student from a very poor family. His father (Mannivannan) is a corporation lorry driver. Dhanush moves the initial 20min with all his mischief. Pasupathi(after being a villain for Kamal and Vikram, he is slowly becoming a villain for child artists) is a huge Dada, even ministers overlook his day light murders. In comes, Sindhu Tholani(cute girl), ans yes, they fall in love. The way they both express their love, oh God! Just forget it. If u haven't guessed what's next, that means, you have not watched a DHIL, DHOOL, SAAMY or THIRUMALAI. Dhanush, enters into a fist cuff with Pasupathy. "Interval". What happens in second half is nothing new. Pasupathy vows to kill Dhanush. Dhanush, whips all the henchmen sent by Pasupathy. Pasupathy kills Dhanush's father. Dhanush kills Pasupathy. This review is different because it does not ask you to watch the movie in Silver Screen. The story is a simple one liner…what could have helped is a fast screenplay like the director's earlier movie, THIRUMALAI. The Director Ramanna, however has failed to deliver. The way Dhanush, overacts, is irritating. Talking punch dialogues here and there, whipping some 50-100 rowdies, talking senti dialogues when not required and so on. A piece of advise (if only Dhanush gets to read this) - "Dhanush, you are still a kid. Wait for another 20 years and that's when you can speak punch dialogues and that's when Trisha will act as your mom. The songs disappoint too (music by Vidyasagar). Except for "Yei Sullan, Vaa Sullan", the other songs don't make an impact. The climax, is a big comedy, with police watching Dhanush, fight Pasupathy. The director's biggest mistake….being over confident. Sullan means "Small Guy"…. He definitely is.
