The movie is a remake of the super hit hindhi version, Munnabhai MBBS. As in recent times, the movie has gotten kamal in a controversy with doctors (they feel the title puts doctors in bad light?!). The movie is about the life of a local don, who decides to pursue a career in medicine, to satisfy his father's ambition. Kamal(though looks old, like always has come out with extra ordinary performance) is a local don, who dupes his father Nagesh that he is a big doctor. Prabhu(why is he there in this movie?) is one of his assistants. Nagesh decides to fix Kamal's marriage with Prakash Raj's daughter, Sneha (moderate performance). Prakash Raj, comes to know abt. Kamal's antecedents, stops the proposal. Nagesh, is shattered to know that he has been duped. Kamal, now vows to become a doctor and marry Sneha. How he manages to do it forms the rest of the movie. Kamal fits naturally into the role of a Chennai Don, speaking the dialect to perfection. His performance in the scene where he hears abt. the Cancer patient, the way he emotes on seeing him dead, is great to watch.. The coma patient scenes is also good.. The story completely revolves around kamal and kamal only. The way he questions the doctors on their treatment is a good laugh. As before, this Kamal and Crazy Mohan combine provides all the laughter and entertainment. Music by Bharadwaj is good. "Alwarpet Andava" sung by Kamal is a good masala song. The song and dance in "Sirichu Sirichuvantha Seenathana Doi" is a sure hit. Choreography for this song is by Dinesh and it definitely will attract lot of attention. Director Saran, hasnt done anything different, since the movie is a complete remake. The movie is definitely a hit to be. Vasool Raja will live up to its name.
